Costa Crociere is an Italian cruise line founded in 1948 and organized as a wholly owned subsidiary of Carnival Corporation & plc since 2000. Based in Genoa, Italy, the cruise line primarily caters to the Italian cruise market, but the company’s 10 ships, which all sail under the Italian flag, provide itineraries sailing to countries globally.

Costa asked us to design a set of illustrations for different purposes related to communication with passengers on board.
The brief asked us to create original illustrations that could be understood by a very broad target audience, from children to the elderly, and that could be easily animated.
We animated a lot of illustrations to explain different aspects of the cruise work.
From the first sketches we realized that the easiest way to do that would be to focus attention by using few colors and defined outlines.
Of course, one of the best parts of this project was having the experience on board: getting on a floating city and sleeping with an ocean view definitely helped us do a good job.
